Closed Source Media

I might be a business major and I might be a Windows user, but the concept of open source is something I respect, and I'm a huge advocate of a general online right to privacy.

So what we have here is a bunch of conservative bloggers (which really has nothing to do with my point here, they could be communists for all I care, though I doubt communists would come up with something like this) who acquired $3.5 million in capital to fund what they call 'Open Source Media'.

Okay. $3.5m for a fucking blog? I hope those investors know how badly they've been ripped off. But that's not what annoys me. What really annoys me is this, from the privacy policy:

'Open Source' my arse. For comparison, here's the privacy policy of another very popular political blog which I frequent:
Daily Kos will not give out your information to any third parties. Period.
In addition to....
Site content may be used for any purpose without explicit permission unless otherwise specified.

That, gentlemen, is open source.
